Hazen Audel, born on January 25, 1974, is a renowned American adventurer, television presenter, biologist, educator, and natural history guide. He was born in Spokane, Washington, and hails from the state of Washington in the United States. Hazen is of Kootenai and Salish Native American descent and also has Greek ancestry.
His passion for nature and wildlife began in his childhood, where he was captivated by bugs and snakes. He aspired to be a combination of Tarzan, David Attenborough, and Dr. Herbert R. Axelrod. Hazen pursued his studies in biology, focusing on entomology and art, at Western Washington University. However, he left his studies midway to seek adventure in the Amazon rainforest.
He embarked on a journey to the Amazon at the age of 19, camping near an indigenous Quechua community in Ecuador. During his stay, he learned about the indigenous way of life and honed his skills in finding bugs and snakes. Hazen returned to the Amazon multiple times over the years, deepening his connection with the wilderness.
