Early Life and Education:
Growing up in Mthatha, Busiswa’s family later relocated to Durban due to her parents’ work. At the age of 15, she discovered her passion for writing poems, and since 2004, while in Grade 11, she has been actively involved in poetry performances.
Her first poetry recital took place at her grandmother’s funeral. In 2005, Busiswa joined the Young Basadzi Women of Poetry collective, where she showcased her talent at various events, talent shows, and festivals. She also organized monthly poetry sessions called “1st Word Sessions” at the Bat Centre in Durban.
