Stacey Yvonne Abrams, born on December 9, 1973, is a prominent American politician, lawyer, author, and voting rights activist. She is well-known for her work in the Georgia House of Representatives and as the founder of Fair Fight Action, an organization dedicated to combating voter suppression.
Stacey Abrams Early Life and Education:
Stacey Abrams was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. Her parents, Robert and Carolyn Abrams, later moved the family to Atlanta, Georgia, where they pursued doctorate degrees in divinity at Emory University. Stacey attended Avondale High School and excelled academically, becoming the valedictorian in 1991.
She also participated in the Telluride Association Summer Program in 1990. Subsequently, Abrams earned a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies (political science, economics, and sociology) from Spelman College in 1995. She later pursued a Master of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs as a Harry S. Truman Scholar and obtained a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School in 1999.
